I’m Still Asleep!

feet, bed, sleep, in love, erotism, toes, sheets, exhausted, man and woman

My friends and family seem to think I get up early since they assume I go to bed early. Before six o’clock this morning , my phone which is charging on the other side of the room, begins to ding.  I’m in that dreamy time in between sleep and awake, not ready to be disturbed.

My daughter in Pennsylvania wants to tell me it’s 8 degrees outside. I live in Florida and is 35 degrees which by our standard is pretty damn cold too. I pulled the covers over my head.

A friend in Ohio who is a schoolteacher wants to tell me it’s 10 degrees there so school has been called off. After she texts me, I’m sure she pulls the covers over her own head and goes back to sleep.

Another friend likes to play Connection, one of those New York Times games. I am more of a Wordle person and I’m pretty darn good at it. Connections drives me crazy most of the time. They give me the words oat, ear, mu and ion and I’m supposed to figure out those are all animals missing the first letter of their name. They also gave me nose and lips so that I continuously try to match those words with ear until I use up all my chances without solving anything. This friend loves this game and she usually sends her results at about 5:30 am.

Now I love all these people dearly, and I’m glad they think I’m available for them 24/7.

But  I need a little time with the blanket pulled up to my chin before I face the day head on. Especially when it’s cold outside.
